Finally saying goodbye

This gallery contains 1 photo.

It only took three months, but I finally compiled the notes and said goodbye to the Schmoo. It’s over here (on http://www.digitaldemolition.com/the-tail-of-the-schmoo/ in case that link isn’t working; it’s been finicky.) Moving on…that’s motion, right?

Everything coming to a grinding halt

This gallery contains 4 photos.

I think there’s a theory that if you move fast enough, eventually you’ll be standing still. Or maybe that’s just a theory I devised and am now attempting to give credibility to by external attribution. Anyway… Since last I wrote … Continue reading

Backward

One of the things I’d hoped when I chose my “motion” as my word for 2011 was that the motion would all be forward. Unfortunately, that’s not the ways that the winds of the universe always blow. I’m 43, I … Continue reading

Of Sprouts and Swings

This gallery contains 2 photos.

I saw some of these in our back yard (aka the mud bog from hell) last week and thought surely I must be imagining it. Plants growing, in Portland, in January? Impossible! But when I was walking past the hospital, … Continue reading

Sidewalk or Tree

This gallery contains 1 photo.

North Portland has some of the most challenging sidewalks ever. Not only because no one seems to care, but also because they love the trees more than the sidewalks. Who will win, I wonder? (In SF, the city sends around … Continue reading

No pictures today

I walked about three miles today. The midpoint was an errand, so there were fewer new options for me to try because I run this errand every week. Today’s journey took me through parts of my ‘hood that are definitely … Continue reading
