North Portland has some of the most challenging sidewalks ever. Not only because no one seems to care, but also because they love the trees more than the sidewalks. Who will win, I wonder? (In SF, the city sends around sidewalk Nazis to spray-paint “your” damaged areas to fix, lest you face a fine. They flag areas to be repaired that are in significantly better condition than this one. The city needs the cash, after all, since the government siphons it away into unknown coffers. Jerks.)
